Shrimp Alfredo
Shrimp Alfredo has always been one of my favorite dishes. The texture of the pasta, the creaminess of the sauce and the soft chewiness of the shrimp combine to make a great dish. Whether home or camp cooking, you will certainly enjoy this Dutch oven recipe!
Ingredients:
1 lb seashell noodles
½ lb shrimp, pealed & de veined
3 tbs butter
2 eggs, beaten
2 ½ cups milk
2 tbs flour
2 tsp garlic powder
½ tsp salt
1 medium onion, diced
4 cups grated Parmesan cheese
2 cups grated Romano cheese
Directions:
Cook seashell noodles in boiling water per directions on the box. While noodle are cooking, melt butter in a 12" Dutch oven and saute the diced onion until translucent. Stir in flour to make a light roux, add in the garlic powder and salt then stir in your shrimp. Mix the milk with beaten egg and blend in until thick and bubbly. Mix cheeses together then add 5 cups of cheese stirring until melted. Stir in cooked seashell noodles then top off with balance of cheese. If cooking indoors at home, cover your Dutch oven and bake at 350º for 25 to 30 minutes. For outdoor or camp cooking use 24 charcoal briquettes. Place 15 lit briquettes on top and 9 underneath your Dutch oven. You may need more coals in windy or cold weather.
